RV service technician trade getting the attention it deserves at the 2017 Skills Canada National Competition!

June 1st 2017 The first day of competition at the 2017 Canadian Skills Competition in Winnipeg Manitoba.

What we heard at the 2017 Skills Canada National Competition, “what an incredible trade.”

Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) hosted the Skills Canada National Competition from May 31 to June 3 in Winnipeg, MB. There were over 40 skilled trade competitions with over 550 secondary and post-secondary competitors from across Canada. This event also provides student visitors and the general public with hands-on experience with aims to encourage Canada’s youths to consider skilled trades as a viable, rewarding career option.

We had 2 incredibly busy days from the moment doors were open. We repeatedly heard how “awesome” our Try-A-Trade activity was, which was a folding camping stool.

From scratch to finish, the construction took approximately 20 minutes. However, the line ups grew as the day passes and would take up to 2 hours! Approximately 4000 visitors came through our booth and built over 500 camping stools and 2000 cookies baked on June 1 and 2! That’s no small feat!

Once again, we absolutely blew everyone away with the complexity of our activities, and the number of trades found in the one trade.
